How MotoActa works.

A weatherproof QR code on your bike resolves to a permanent record. What a scanner sees depends on who they are — public profile for riders, inspection checklist for track officials, service history for shops and buyers.

01

Stick the code

Affix a weatherproof QR sticker or NFC tag to your bike — windscreen, tank, or fender. Each code is permanently bound to your bike's identity in MotoActa.

02

Scan to identify

A rider scans to follow your build. An inspector scans to load the tech checklist. A shop scans to log service. A buyer scans to see verified history. One code, every context.

03

The bike's record grows

Every service, track session, inspection, and ownership transfer becomes a permanent timeline entry. Your bike's full story follows it forever — including after you sell it.

Audience · 01 / Riders

Built for riders.

Whether you're a daily commuter, a weekend canyon carver, or a knee-down track rat, MotoActa gives your bike a verified digital identity and the social presence it deserves.

For Riders

Your bike has a story. Tell it.

Show off the build, log every service, get spotted in the wild. Your bike's profile is permanent — every photo, every mod, every track day stays with it across ownership.

  • Public bike profiles with build photos, mod lists, and ride history
  • "Spotted" feed — get notified when other riders scan your bike in the wild
  • Service log with mileage tracking and interval reminders
  • Track hours counter that ticks separately from street miles
  • Granular privacy controls — show what you want, hide what you don't
  • Crash log with damage documentation (for insurance and resale honesty)

Replace the clipboard. Run faster tech.

Tech inspection on paper is slow, error-prone, and undocumented. MotoActa turns the morning tech line into a 3-minute scan-and-verify — with full liability documentation, configurable per-org checklists, and instant cross-org history.

For Track Orgs

Tech inspection that actually scales.

Returning riders with recent inspections get express tech. New riders get a structured digital checklist. Every pass is timestamped, photographed, and attributable. Works offline at tracks with bad cell service.

  • Configurable checklists — your org's tech requirements, not a generic template
  • Per-event tech pass with photographic audit trail
  • Cross-org visibility — see if a bike passed tech at a sister org last weekend
  • Crash event integration — bikes auto-flagged for re-inspection after any get-off
  • Offline-first inspector app — syncs when cell service comes back
  • Race weekend mode for sanctioning bodies (class eligibility, transponder ID, contingency tracking)
Throttle return — sticky-free, snaps closed 0:42
Brake pads — front 60%, rear 75% 1:18
Safety wire — drain, filter, calipers 1:55
Coolant — water + Water Wetter only 2:12
Tires — Q5, 4 / 6 heat cycles 2:38
Bar ends, mirrors removed, lights taped 3:00

Verified service entries. Real customer retention.

A verified MotoActa shop account turns every customer's QR scan into a logged work order — building your reputation, your customer history, and your lead pipeline. No more paper invoices that get tossed.

For Shops

Be the badge that builds resale value.

Customers' bikes show your work in their permanent record. Buyers searching used bikes see your name on the suspension service, the tune, the rebuild. Reviews tied to verified work, not anonymous drive-bys.

  • Verified shop profile with specialties, location, and credibility badge
  • Auto-billed work orders sync to the customer's bike record
  • Service reminders pushed to past customers ("brake fluid due")
  • Lead gen — riders searching "K-Tech authorized" or "Florida race prep" find you
  • Reviews tied to actual completed work, not anonymous Yelp
  • API integrations with shop management software (Mitchell 1, Lightspeed, etc.)

MotoActa started in a paddock at Homestead-Miami Speedway. After another morning watching tech inspectors flip through paper clipboards while riders waited 90 minutes to get on track, the question wouldn't go away — why doesn't this bike already have a verified record someone can scan?

Every other vehicle does. Cars have CarFax. Aircraft have logbooks. Even bicycles have Bike Index. Motorcycles, which sit in the gap between consumer vehicle and pro-grade performance machine, are stuck with paper invoices, lost service records, and shoebox receipts.

MotoActa is the platform I wanted for my own bikes — built from the chassis up for the way riders, orgs, and shops actually work. It's open, API-first, edge-deployed on Cloudflare, and LLM-accessible by design. Your bike's record belongs to your bike, not to a vendor.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions, answered.

Is the QR code permanent? What if it falls off?
The QR identity is permanent — your bike keeps the same record even if the physical sticker is damaged or removed. Stickers and NFC tags are replaceable; the underlying record lives in the platform. Premium tiers include weatherproof and metal-badge options designed to survive track conditions.
What if someone scans my QR? Can they see my home address?
No. Visibility is fully under your control. By default, a scanner sees your bike's public profile — make, model, build photos, and whatever you choose to share. Owner identity, address, location history, and cost data are hidden unless you explicitly enable them. Sensitive scopes (like full service records or insurance data) require explicit access grants.
What happens to my bike's record when I sell it?
The record stays with the bike. The new owner gets a transfer link that brings them into the platform with full visibility into the bike's verified history. You keep an immutable record of your ownership period, including everything you logged. This is what makes MotoActa-recorded bikes worth more on resale.
Does this work for street bikes or just track/race bikes?
Both — fully. The data model treats street miles and track hours as parallel counters, with service intervals that respect both. Whether your bike never sees a track or lives at one, the platform serves the same purpose: a permanent, verifiable record of its life.
Why should a track day org switch from paper inspections?
Three reasons that show up immediately: morning tech lines drop from ~90 minutes to ~20 because returning riders with recent inspections get express tech. Every pass is timestamped and photographed, building a real liability defense. Cross-org history means an inspector can see if a bike passed tech elsewhere last weekend — useful trust signal. The math works out at $3/rider/event vs. paid staff time.
Is there an API? What about MCP?
Yes to both. MotoActa is API-first from day one — every feature is buildable against a public REST API with OpenAPI documentation. The MCP (Model Context Protocol) server lets you connect Claude, ChatGPT, or any LLM directly to your bike's record — "log my oil change," "what's due for service?", "show me every track session on my R3." Read more in the developer docs.
When does this launch?
MVP is in active development in 2026, with track day org pilots beginning in late 2026. Waitlist members get priority access to the closed beta, founding-rate pricing locked for 12 months, and a free founding-member QR sticker pack at launch.
Is my data really mine?
Yes. MotoActa is built on the principle that your bike's record belongs to your bike, not to us. Full data export is available at any time in standard formats (JSON, CSV). If you ever leave the platform, you take a complete, portable archive of every service, scan, and inspection logged.
